Early Childhood Education

The first years of life are a true treasure. It is during the Early Childhood Education stage where the first great cognitive, physical, and emotional challenge of life takes place. It is the time in which the foundation is built upon which all learning in later years is established.

The value of education at early ages is more than evident. Díez Navarro (2007) highlights in her book Mi escuela sabe a naranja (My school tastes like orange) something truly interesting that we rarely stop to analyze: “it seems paradoxical to think that to be an individual, autonomous, and different person, we must first be part of a group.” And the fact is that before being a particular individual, we must have been sustained by the desire of others.

All children have been named on countless occasions even before birth; they have been imagined and awaited while they were being formed; later, those children, day after day, have been loved and encouraged a thousand times… and so on until acquiring that awareness of being that makes each of us know that we are unique. A more than convincing explanation to understand the need to care for these first years in which boys and girls become part of a group.

METHODOLOGY

Colegio Cénit is an ideal place to begin discovering the world and living new experiences, as young children possess an innate intuition, creativity, and curiosity that the school aims to harness by offering students a learning environment tailored to their specific needs and interests.

The center’s methodology, centered on cooperative learning, begins in these early years when children start learning to help one another and work together to achieve common goals while also striving for maximum personal growth. Furthermore, project-based work in the Early Childhood stage allows educators to listen to the children, discover their motivations, research, and inquire, building a learning experience together that is truly meaningful.

Through this approach, they begin their first steps toward learning the English language, literacy, and mathematics through the ABN method, as well as engaging in physical activity, music, art, and science.
