CÉNIT SCHOOL WITH NATURE
Our Garden:
Since 2016, we have developed one of the most important and enriching projects at our center: “THE SCHOOL GARDEN.” The main objective is for our students to experience and live nature from a nearby setting, such as the School. Throughout the course, we work on everything related to knowledge competence and interaction with the world around us; this program yields many fruits and cultivates in our students a taste for observation, experimentation, and respect for nature.
It is located on the school’s terraces, which were previously unused; it is here and in the playground where our activity takes place. We have a great variety of plants: rose bushes, peppermint, cacti… but the ones our students actually plant are: tomatoes, onions, radishes, lettuce, parsley… the star is our olive tree located in the playground.
We use some of our pairings to develop this; in the first phase, what we do is plant a variety of seeds in recycled yogurt cups decorated by the students, and we keep them in class for 2 months, caring for them and watching their growth in their own classrooms.
